Recommendations
College should adopt a 4-course, 4 SCH per course, 8 semester conceptual model for all BSE and BS engineering curricula.
This should include at least 12 hours of unrestricted electives and at least 16 credit hours of humanities and social sciences.
Offer a common curriculum for all first-year students and not require by policy or de facto that students elect their major prior to the second year.
Strengthen academic advising.
Introduce a new first-year course, Engineering 100, that includes both project work and technical communication.
Introduce a new first-year Engineering 101 computers course.
Institute a program of communications across the curriculum with at least 3 credit hours of technical communication
Better coordinate of math, physics, chemistry, and biology.
Include ethics and environmental issues in curriculum.
